The DCU 408 is the first-generation Marine Pro 400 engine controller without a local display, for engine rooms that are cramped or unattended. With the DCU 410 it is the base unit of a 400 Series system for fixed-speed generator sets as well as variable-speed propulsion engines and pumps.

Auto-Maskin's replacement is the Auto-Maskin DCU 408E Engine Controller.
