Oceanographic research vessel.Came out of local shipyard in May 2013 with fresh 5 year cert. Laid up in freshwater for a period. Certificates is now expired and must be renewed.

Must see to appreciate. 10,925nmi range @ 12.5 knots. 45 day endurance. 14.5 knots max. 15T hydraulic straight boom crane on upper deck, 5T articulate crane on bow, and 10T A-frame gantry crane on the stern with 20' deck clearance. Lounges, wet lab, conference rooms, data process rooms plus accommodations include 7 - single and 20 - double staterooms plus berths for up to 11 crew members. Can be fitted with 20' x 20' helideck if required. Vessel upgraded with a complete refit to new standards in 2003 with new interior, wiring, piping, electronics, and loadline. Rod bearings replaced, fuel system and pumps overhauled. Hospital room, 34 seat main mess. MSD system. 2 - water maker. Incinerator, laundry room - com grade.  anti-roll system.

in 2001 this vessel was completely refurbished and retrofitted with the latest in electronics, machinery, and safety equipment. With her refit complete, she arrived in Seattle, Washington, in 2003 to begin her career as a private research ship

In 2008, she was outfitted with the most advanced underwater mapping equipment available. Her Kongsberg EM 120 and EM 710 high-resolution multibeam mapping systems offer a state-of-the-art capability to perform seabed mapping to full ocean depth with unrivaled resolution, coverage, and accuracy. The EM 120 system allows for accurate surveys to a depth of 11,000 meters (36,089 feet), while the EM 710 allows for accurate mapping to a depth of 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). The vessel is an acoustically quiet platform capable of supporting sophisticated sonar operations in deep water and high sea states. To ensure ship-related noise does not degrade the vessel′s capability to perform her science mission at full performance, the sonar systems are installed in a gondola arrangement below her hull. In addition, custom-designed propellers were installed in early 2011 to improve her efficiency.

In 2008, she was outfitted with stabilization tanks and anti-roll chocks which have eliminated much of her natural roll, making hert an ideal platform for surveying. She is a very quiet vessel in comparison to other commercial research platforms and performance and acoustical testing of the EM 710 sonar demonstrated that it is identical to that obtained on the quietest United States Navy research vessels.

Sonar Equipment (Multibeam): The vessel is outfitted with Kongsberg EM 120 and EM 710
systems. Vessel positioning is aided by an Applanix/Trimble POS MV 320 Inertial/GPS system.
Additionally the vessel has a sea chest valve for installation of a Kongsberg HIPAP 500
    transducer.
    - Main Deck Data Processing Room: Three (3) Kongsberg transceiver units as follows: (1)
    Model EM 120; (1) Model SBP 120; (1) Model E 710. One Kongsberg model EM 120 junction
    box.
    - 02 Level Data Processing Room: Two (2) Kongsberg Operator Stations with computer/data
processing terminals each consisting of: (1) model HWS II computer; (1) 19” monitor; (1)
keyboard and (1) mouse. One HWS II computer is used for the EM 710 system the second one is
used for the EM 120 system
